About Us
Red Rock Pain Specialists is a full-spectrum, comprehensive pain management center that diagnoses and treats a broad variety of chronic pain conditions. At our clinic, each patient receives individualized treatment using the latest medical techniques.
All our patients undergo a thorough, in-depth evaluation by a Board-Certified Physician, enabling the selection of individually tailored treatment options. We maximize various conservative, non-opioid management solutions for acute and chronic pain conditions, employing evidence-based techniques.
Promptly applied conservative measures often help to reduce pain and discomfort, especially following acute automobile accidents. However, more advanced techniques are oftentimes necessary to maximize recovery.
Interventional and minimally invasive surgical options are available to all our patients, performed by our double board-certified and fellowship-trained physicians, who represent the highest level of medical training in the US

Our ultimate goal is to achieve and maintain each patient’s wellbeing and comfort.
What is Pain Management Specialty?
Pain medicine is a medical specialty that focuses on the evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and management of individuals experiencing pain. Pain can be either acute (short-term) or chronic (long-lasting). It may arise from various causes such as injury, surgery, nerve damage, metabolic problems like diabetes, or it can be a symptom of a disease like cancer. The specialty of pain medicine is multidisciplinary, involving approaches from various medical fields. Key aspects of this specialty include:
Evaluation and Diagnosis
Specialists in pain medicine are trained to assess complex pain conditions. They use a combination of patient history, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests to understand the cause and nature of the pain.
Treatment and Management
The treatment plan in pain medicine is personalized and may involve a combination of medications, physical therapy, psychological therapy, and interventional procedures. The goal is to reduce pain and improve the quality of life.
Multidisciplinary Approach
Pain medicine often involves collaboration with other specialties such as neurology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, psychiatry, and orthopedic and neurosurgery to provide comprehensive care.
Interventional Techniques
This can include injections, nerve blocks, spinal cord stimulation, and other minimally invasive procedures to manage pain.
Chronic Pain Management
Specialists in pain medicine are particularly skilled in managing chronic pain, which can be complex and require ongoing care and various therapies.
Patient Education and Support
Educating patients about pain management and self-care strategies is an essential part of treatment. Support can also include counseling or therapy to help patients cope with the emotional and psychological aspects of living with pain.
Research and Advancements
Pain medicine is a continually evolving field, with ongoing research into new treatments, medications, and understanding of pain mechanisms.
Understanding the qualifications of a treating physician is crucial for patients. In the United States, achieving Board Certification after completing Specialty Fellowship training is recognized as the pinnacle of medical training.
To be eligible for the Pain Medicine Board Examination, a candidate must complete the following educational path:
-
Bachelor’s
degreefocusing on medical sciences, such as physics, chemistry, or biology, often referred to as “pre-med”.
-
MD
(Doctor of Medicine)
or DO
(Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine)
degree.
-
Residency
in one of the specialties recognized by the ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education), such as Anesthesiology, Neurology, or Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
-
Pain Medicine
Fellowship’in an ACGME-accredited program.
This rigorous training path typically spans over 12 years, ensuring that an Interventional Pain Management physician possesses a comprehensive depth of knowledge to accurately diagnose and manage a wide array of complex chronic pain conditions. Upon completion of all requirements, the eligible applicant must pass a very challenging board examination which tests the depth of knowledge necessary to practice as a pain physician.
The American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA), in partnership with the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), currently serves as the authoritative entity for qualifying suitable candidates. Its status as the gold standard in board certification stems from its rigorous requirements and the extensive training it necessitates.
At Red Rock Pain Specialists, we prioritize the highest level of care for our patients. Therefore, we recognize only the Board Certification offered through the American Board of Anesthesiology for our physicians.
